How to launch your start up quicker

The startup culture is full of people who want to, and try to, but just can’t get their business off the ground. Why is this the case? Much of the reason has to do with the fact that many entrepreneurs don’t know how to take their business from point A to B. Point A is that brilliant idea in the mind of the entrepreneur. B is that subsequent, hoped-for state where the business is secure, established and making money.
"In between" is tough.
In terms of strategies, one of the best ways to build your business is to take that idea in your head to market as soon as possible. Because delays kill. Speed saves. Here are ten tips on how you can launch your startup faster.

1. Just start.

In my experience, it’s more important to start than to start right. Think about it. If you don’t start your business, nothing will happen. Whatever it is that’s keeping you from launching is the very thing you either need to ignore or tackle head-on. So . . .
  • Write the first line of code.
  • Register the domain.
  • Sketch the product.
  • Design the prototype.
There is nothing standing in the way of your starting your business except yourself. Do the first thing that needs to be done.

2. Sell anything.

There are some entrepreneurs who know exactly what they want to sell. There are other entrepreneurs who have no idea what they’re going to sell. They just want to sell something. Here’s my advice: Sell anything.
Many of the world’s greatest entrepreneurs aren’t selling anything new. They are selling it different or better:
  • Sam Walton (Wal-Mart) sold the same thing that you could find at any five-and-dime or corner convenience store.
  • Ted Turner simply sold television broadcasting and advertising.
  • Howard Schultz sold coffee.
  • Warren Buffett bought and sold other people’s stock.
Entrepreneurs aren’t always innovators. You can take someone else’s product and sell it. Richard Branson, after all, launched Virgin Airlines in desperation. He was headed to the Virgin Islands for an, um, romantic interlude. But his flight was cancelled. So, he chartered a private flight, despite his lack of money to pay for it. Here’s how he described what happened next:
I picked up a small blackboard, wrote “Virgin Airlines. $29” on it and went over to the group of people who had been on the flight that was cancelled. I sold tickets for the rest of the seats on the plane, used their money to pay for the chartered plane and we all went to the Virgin Islands that night.
Got the message? Go ahead and sell something. Anything.

3. Ask someone for advice, then ask him/her to do it.

When you start a business, you will most definitely not have all the answers. For example, you’ll need to get incorporated, but how? S-Corp, C-Corp or LLC?
To get these answers, ask a competent attorney. The attorney will provide advice -- say it's to start an S-Corp. But, then what? Ask the attorney to do it for you. Instantly, you will have gained an expert who is implementing his/her own advice for your money. Payment? You can reward the attorney with stocks or deferred payment.
When an issue arises, and you don’t have the answer, find someone who does. Then, when this expert gives you advice -- whether business best practice, manufacturing locations, logo design, accounting, whatever -- ask that person to do it.
Your business needs more help, knowledge and professional skills than you have time for. Get people to work for you.

4. Hire remote workers.

If you want to find the best and most affordable talent, you may not find it next door. Be willing to hire remote workers to get great work done.

5. Hire contract workers.

Becoming an employer carries with it a lot of baggage. It may, in fact, form such a barrier that it slows down the process of your startup. Besides, few people will be willing to take the plunge to become the employee of a tenuous startup.
Instead of hiring employees, hire on a contract basis. The point is, you need to find a way to get the talent to provide their services. Don’t let the specific arrangement get in the way of getting stuff done.

6. Find a cofounder.

I couldn’t have founded my businesses without my cofounder Hiten Shah. For me, starting a business took more than just hard work and passion. It took the inspiration and skills of a cofounder. VCs are more likely to invest in a startup that has a founding team, not a founding individual. Even having three cofounders isn’t too many, assuming you have a clear decision-making hierarchy.
Cofounders can provide the skills you lack, and take you further than you ever expected you’d go.

7. Work with someone who pushes you to the extreme.

One of the reasons why Steve Jobs was able to grow Apple into one of the world’s most innovative and valuable brands was because he pushed people. Here’s how he described his management approach.
My job is to not be easy on people. My job is to make them better. My job is to pull things together from different parts of the company and clear the ways and get the resources for the key projects. And to take these great people we have and to push them and make them even better, coming up with more aggressive visions of how it could be.
Sure, Jobs could be aggressive and unkind, but he could also draw out from people better than they thought their best could ever be. You can find the same qualities in a cofounder, a partner, a friend, a mentor or an employee. More importantly, you can provide the same level of expectation for your own team members. As Jobs said, “By expecting them to do great things, you can get them to do great things."

8. Don't focus on money.

Creative Bloq has this gem of advice regarding startups: “Don't necessarily worry about where an income will come from. A good product/service will always find a way to make money."
This is true. A myopic focus on money can pull your business off track. Whether it’s funding, capital, business loans or the perfect pricing model, back off and let things evolve. Growth doesn’t equal funding.Growth means hacking, straining, selling and doing things other than asking for money.

9. Spend time and money on marketing.

Marketing is one of the best things that you can do for your business. When you market your product or service, you are getting it in front of the people who will actually buy it. Marketing is not a waste of time. It’s one of the best early investments that you can make in your business.

10. Talk to your potential customers.

A startup does not exist in the entrepreneur’s mind alone. A startup exists in the landscape of customers and potential customers.
If there will be people buying or using your product, you need to learn all you can about these people, from these people and for these people. Your business will live or die based on their receptivity to the product or service.
The sooner you learn about your customers, the faster you’ll be able to pivot and serve them better.

Conclusion

Starting fast doesn’t mean that you should force scaling. Scaling is something that happens carefully, in a measured cadence.
Starting fast means that you leverage all possible resources to focus on one thing -- getting started. Getting started is the main thing. Once your business is up and running, anything else is possible.
A startup is a race. The faster you are, the more likely you are to win big.

Silent confusion: Mysteries of the untold

I crack my head trying to figure out what lies within the cloud of confusion in my mind

It feels like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place

I rub my eyes to try and get a better view but it is all in vain as the sting of smoke in my eyes starts to form tears

Sight fades further away and I can never get to the bottom of what it genuinely is

I'm left with a platform to guess what the picture portrays

It is all but a vain effort cos I still see nothing and all I'm left with is an imagination of conclusion from feelings

All I have is my gut feeling to depend on, it could be wrong but I need a solid conclusion based on hard facts in order to maintain peace of mind

A big hole left unfilled, an emptiness creeps into the hole and the heart is cold as ice

Its loosing its life as confusion continues to eat its life away

Speculations start to rule and life becomes miserable

A painful story untold is but a mystery

spring shades according to face shapes

Shades according to face shape

so spring is in and we will be seeing a whole load of shades, different shapes, sizes and colors. are you wearing the right shades for your face shape?

Audrina Patridge

Heart Shaped FaceChoosing sunglasses that look great isn’t always easy. That’s why we went to celebrity stylist extraordinaire, Robert Verdi, for tips on how to find the perfect pair for your face shape. For a heart shaped face like Audrina Patridge, Verdi recommends a style that draws attention downward. “You want glasses that add width to the lower part of your face, so bigger styles work well but avoid anything that sits high and wide,” he says.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus nails it when it comes to making sure her round sunglasses fit for her heart-shaped face. “Shapes with round edges look great (on heart shaped faces) and soften the broad upper part of your face,” says Verdi.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton looks as cool as ever with fun shades that complement her square face shape. “For square faces the goal is not to find hard angular lines that will accentuate your strong features, but to soften them with oval or round frames,” says Verdi.

Olivia Palermo

Take a cue from Olivia Palermo and opt for a cute frame to show off a square face shape. Verdi says the fashion-forward and playful styles that are in trend right now are perfect to help soften the face.

Fergie

Fergie is definitely ready for summer with a great pair of shades for her round shaped face. “Since round faces have fuller cheeks, you want to pick frames that make your face look longer and thinner,” says Verdi. “Look for angular frames and more horizontal styles to sharpen the face and add extra length with upswept frames.”

Katy Perry

Verdi says it’s best for round faces to draw attention to the top of their face for extra length. Katy Perry gets it just right by following Verdi’s other tip of choosing a style where the arm of the sunglasses connects at the top of the frame.

Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul’s funky style transcends even to her sunglasses. Her angular, dark frames look amazing on her oval face shape. And lucky for her, there’s not too many frames that she wouldn’t be able to rock. “Because oval faces have balanced proportions most frames look great so you can really play with different styles,” says Verdi.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain gets in the summer spirit by sporting a pair of big, red sunglasses on her oval shaped face. Verdi advises that no matter what shape your face is, to make sure there are no finger prints on your glasses and that you always use a case to prevent the lens from scratching.

spring trends with the crop top leading the charts

Thanks to their shapeless silhouettes, maxi skirts have long sat in that camp along with peplum pieces and playsuits.

Joining that group this spring is the crop top. Designers have been flirting with them for a while but this season they’re everywhere and played a big part in the 1990s revival that’s dominating the fashion agenda right now.

‘The decade was huge on the runway but in a clean, pared-back way,’ says ShopBop style director Elle Strauss. ‘The return of dungarees gives a nod to that and with it comes the crop top.’
Before you go writing it off altogether, the charm of the crop top’s latest incarnation is that it’s shaken off its girl-band connotations.
‘It doesn’t feel clubby or Spice Girls any more,’ says Strauss. The new versions are infinitely more grown up and don’t require washboard abs to pull them off. The secret to nailing the look lies in subtlety.
‘Experimenting with a crop top doesn't mean exposing your midriff,’ explains Matches Fashion.com buying manager Suzanne Pendlebury. ‘But it can be the perfect way to show off high-waisted jeans or skirts to achieve an ultra-feminine, nipped-in silhouette.’
Gone are the slashed T-shirt styles of yesteryear and in their place are crop tops that are less about the stomach and more about the waist.
Styles that sit comfortably at the end of the ribs are important, second only to getting your proportions right at the bottom. The trick is to wear them with skirts and trousers that come over the navel to reveal just a hint of skin.
At Dolce & Gabbana and Michael Kors, for example, crop tops were teamed with ladylike A-line skirts that felt like a modern twist on the summer two-piece.
At Diane von Furstenberg, they were styled with voluminous skirts that emphasised the female form and oozed glamour.
‘The silhouettes now are much more sophisticated,’ adds Strauss. ‘It’s all about knowing your figure and drawing attention to the best bits.’
It hasn’t gone unnoticed. From luxury online retailers such as FarFetch and Avenue 32, to high-street stores Topshop and H&M, everyone is getting in on the action.
But no one taps into the zeitgeist quite like Zara and this season it has covered all bases. From bold embroidery and lace details to some of the more sporty varieties, the choice there is endless, and with prices averaging around the mark, they won’t break the budget.
The hemline index dictates that the higher the hemline, the better the economy and with the British Chamber of Commerce reporting that it is set to hit a pre-recession peak by the end of the summer, it’s safe to say that crop tops aren’t going anywhere any time soon.

pain after pain

a weeping that feels like its forever

pain after pain

an attack that gives you no break
forces joined only to weigh you down
Like Christ carrying His cross out of obedience
you soldier on and endure with hope that joy will come in the morning
The sun sets as your strength starts to wear off
as you have carried heavy burdens one after the other muscles begin to ache
the body wants to give in to the exhaustion of the heavy pile up from the burden that grows
encouragement from hope continues to play its role with whispers that joy will come in the morning

but oh when will that be?

will it even come at all?

restlessness takes over as you sit up to watch the night pass over

waiting for the sun to come up that you may embrace the joy you have awaited
like a groom waiting for his bride that never showed in the alter you are disappointed
along with disappointment comes more pain to add on to the unwanted burden
the ugly feeling of giving up starts to create thoughts of a dark nature as a solution
the terrible family of death as cousins named suicide, self infliction and depression fill your thoughts

just quit and die they chant

its not worth living they chant

The light that lives inside you tells you to have faith and hold on a little longer
The light is so small, it got smaller by the day when you got disappointed over and over
Pain was inflicted in your insides and now they are so bruised in a way that all you see are scars
In the midst of that bad picture in your mind

inflicted mind is all you have
inflicted mind is all you have

In the midst of that bad picture in your mind that small light  shows you the path to which your broken feet should follow
Arms stiff from carrying endless heavy burdens continue to endure as they ache beyond endurance, you pull yourself towards the direction shown
There you see a pair of hands waiting to relieve you of your burden
The burden is removed from you and tossed to another bigger pile of pain.

Pile of pain lifted off
pile of pain lifted off

One touch is all it takes for this pair of hand to ease you of all the pains in your body
Its as though you had never suffered
Your body is renewed and a new strength is found within
He holds you in a comforting embrace and tells you, i've already paid for this pains
Bring all your burdens to me, I will gladly relieve you of them
I love you and you are mine
I will always be there for you
Never suffer anything on your own because I have paid for all your sufferings on the cross
Carry no burdens no more, lay them at my feet and acknowledge your authority that I carry in you.
You are free, I liberated you, live like it cos Satan has no hold on you
